Summer Camps with Miss DiMaggio
Week 1 – June 15-19
Summer Painting Camp 1 - open to students entering 1st grade – 8th grade in the Art Room
8:00-9:30
This camp will teach acrylic painting techniques that focus on texture, movement, composition and color theory. Students will learn to mix their own colors, set up and clean up their painting supplies and paint on canvas.
Let’s Clay Around – open to students entering 1st grade – 8th grade in the Art Room
9:30-11:00
Clay is something that is fun for everyone! Students will have the opportunity to work with three types of clay, ceramic clay, Model Magic and Sculpey clay.
11:00-11:30 – Lunch
Crafts that Rock- open to students entering 1st grade – 8th grade in the Art Room
11:30-1:00
The most obvious benefit of doing arts and crafts is that the activity foments creativity. This summer we will be tie-dying, painting, creating Sculpey clay jewelry and sculptures, using various methods of kiln fired ceramics, Model Magic, Macramé, and other crafting techniques.
Photos and Frames Summer Camp- open to students entering 1st grade – 8th grade in the Art Room
1:00-2:30
Students will learn the basics of iPad photography; including framing, perspective, focus,
light and dark and other introductory techniques.
Week 2 – June 22-26
Summer Painting Camp 2- open to students entering 1st grade – 8th grade in the Art Room
8:00-9:30
This camp will further explore acrylic painting techniques that focus on the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. Students will experiment with different painting techniques, set up and clean up their painting supplies and paint on canvas.
This camp is for students who have previously taken painting classes or have participated in Summer Painting Camp 1
Lego Camp- open to students entering Kintergarten –8th grade in the Art Room
9:30-11:00
Colorful and easy to use, Lego bricks have withstood the test of time because of their unlimited open-ended possibilities. There is not just one way to play with a set of Legos.
Join us this summer for a few days of Lego fun.
